San Beda Mendiola Scholarship Essays

In selecting applicants for admission, the following will be reviewed:

  1. Grades received in previous academic work;
  2. Entrance exam scores;
  3. Recommendation from the officials of the last school attended;
  4. Interviews, essay tests, and other supplementary credentials; and
  5. Certification of good moral character

In addition, applicants must:

  1. Possess a pleasing personality;
  2. meet the minimum height requirement (152.4cm for women and 157.48cm for men);and
  3. be physically fit (without deformities/abnormalities)

Specifically for freshmen, a 4th year high school general average of 82 and above with no grades below 80 in Science, Math, and English is required.

 

For transferees, admission is limited only to those seeking enlistment in the first or second year. Those who have completed his/her first and second year college in another school but would not otherwise qualify for admission in San Beda College as a transferee may be allowed to enroll as first year student again, provided he/she signs an affidavit waiving any and all credits earned in the school he/she came from. Transferees must also meet the following requirements:

  1. Must come from a Level II Accredited schools;
  2. Should not have a failing grade in any subject taken in college;
  3. Should have a weighted GPA not lower than 2.5 counting all the subjects taken in the school he/she was previously enrolled in and subjects to be credited in the academic program he/she is enlisting;
  4. Should neither have withdrawn nor have an incomplete grade in more than one (1) subject per semester in the school he/she was previously enrolled;
  5. Willing to repeat all General Education subjects with grades below 2.5;
  6. Should have passed the initial interview and evaluation of credentials to determine qualification for entrance examination;
  7. Must not have been previously enrolled in two or more colleges or universities;
  8. Should have passed the SBC entrance exam and interview; and
  9. Should submit all other requirements as deemed necessary by the Board of Admissions

1.Incoming Freshmen

a. Two (2) photocopies of the Report Card

For high school graduating students: Submit the latest 4th year grading period (if not yet available, present the 3rd year high school report card & a certification that you are an incumbent 4th year student).

For high school graduates: Submit 4th year high school report card with complete grades.

b. Printed copy of the completed online application form with a 2x2 photo (See Applicant Access Module on the website: www.sanbeda.edu.ph)

c.Two (2) 2x2 colored photos (white background and with name tag)

d.Two (2) completed recommendation forms (See downloadable forms from the website)

e.Two (2) photocopies of Philippines Statistics Authority(PSA) birth certificate

f. Application/testing fee of PhP 600.00

2.Transferees/Second Courser (those who have taken courses from another school or those pursuing another undergraduate degree)

a. Two (2) photocopies of the certified true copy of grades (with general weighted average) marked “For Evaluation Purposes only”

b. Printed copy of the completed online application form with a 2x2 photo (See Applicant Access Module on the website: www.sanbeda.edu.ph)

c. Two (2) colored photos (white background and with name tag)

d. Two (2) photocopies of Philippines Statistics Authority(PSA) birth certificate

e. Two (2) completed recommendation forms (See downloadable forms from the website)

f. Certification of good moral character issued by the school

g. Application/testing fee of P600.00

3.Foreign Students (as indicated in the birth certificate)

a. Transcript of Records (authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Services Post from the country of origin)

b. Printed copy of the completed online application form with a 2x2 photo (See Applicant Access Module on the website: www.sanbeda.edu.ph)

c. Two (2) photocopies of Birth Certificate (authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Services Post from the country of origin)

d. Two (2) 2x2 colored photos (white background and with name tag)

e. English proficiency exam results

f. Two (2) completed recommendation forms (See downloadable forms from the website)

g. Certification of good moral character issued by the school

h. Application and testing fee of P1,000.00

  1. Prepare all the requirements and submit them to the Admissions Center. For foreign students, an interview will be conducted.
  2. Proceed to the Accounting Office to get a receipt which must be presented to the Cashier to pay the application/testing fee of P600.00 (1,000.00 for foreign applicants).
  3. Secure the entrance test permit from the Admissions Center by presenting the Official receipt of payment.
  4. Take the entrance exam as scheduled.
  5. Access SBC website for the results of the entrance exam on the release date.
  6. • For examinees who passed the entrance exam, set an appointment for interview with the CON Office of the Guidance Services: +632-7356011 ext. 4410

    • For waitlisted, you may arrange your schedule of interview with the Office of the College Guidance Services (same contact detail above) for your application and credentials to be given further review

  7. Applicants for interview must come in proper attire. Some applicants may undergo more than one interview as may be deemed necessary by the interviewer. Final fourth year high school grades and recommendations will be reviewed to determine application status.
  8. For accepted applicants, pay reservation fee of P2,000.00. Submit the validated reservation form to the Admissions Center.
  9. Undergo the following laboratory exams and submit the results to our Clinic:
  10. • Chest X-ray

    • Electrocardiography (ECG)

    • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

    • Urinalysis

    • Fecalysis

    • Drug test (using urine)

    • Pregnancy test

  11. Submit the following to secure enrollment permit:

    a. Form 138/Original copy of the Report Card

    b. 2 pcs. of 2x2 photos (with name tag)

    c. Admission contracts

     

    B. Foreign Student

    a. Original Transcript of Records (authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post from the country of origin)

    b. Two (2) photocopies of the birth certificate (authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post from the country of origin)

    c. 2 pcs. of 2x2 photos (with name tag)

    d. Admission contracts

  13. Be prompt on your scheduled enrollment.
  1. Present a copy of the grade to the Admissions Center for preliminary screening. An initial interview will be conducted upon passing the preliminary screening.
  2. Prepare all the requirements and submit them to the Admissions Center.
  3. Proceed to the Accounting Office to get a receipt which must be presented to the Cashier to pay the application/testing fee of P600.00 (P1,000.00 for foreign students) at the Cashier.
  4. Secure the entrance test permit from the Admissions Center by presenting the Official receipt of payment.
  5. Take the entrance exam as scheduled.
  6. Access SBC website for the results of the entrance exam on the release date.
  7. • For examinees who passed the entrance exam, set an appointment for interview with the CON Office of the Guidance Services: +632-7356011 ext. 4410

  8. Prepare the following credentials which must be submitted on or before the interview schedule:

    • Drug test results

    • Affidavit of Waiver (for transferees who will start as first year)

    • Subject Description or course catalogue (for transferees with subjects to be credited)

  1. Read the Admission Policies of the Department. For incoming freshman, prepare all the requirements and proceed to Step 2.
  2. For transferee and second degree program student, submit a copy of your grades through mail or e-mail (admissions@sanbeda.edu.ph) for preliminary screening. Wait for the assessment of your qualification to apply. If qualified, prepare the requirements for submission via mail.

  3. Pay the application/testing fee of Php 600.00 through bank under the account name of San Beda College.

The Student Activity Program provides opportunities for learning to take place inside and outside the classrooms. It coordinates all student activities to develop individuals who are truly Christian in principle, Benedictine in orientation and Filipino in Character. The program is classified in two categories:

  2. Extra-curricular activities are those which complement and form an essential support of the academic program. They are organized and supervised by the Prefect of Activities. Among the extra-curricular activities are the following:

    3. Educational Outbound Program (EOP) – Field Trips
      The annual outbound education is held to supplement classroom
      activities. In coordination with the private organization called Lakbay
      Kalikasan, the facilitators provide varied opportunities and activities to the
      pupils from L1-14. However, the Nursery field trip is handled by the
      administrators and advisers on a half-day basis only.
